It’s one of the very reasons we created Vegan Bakers Man. When guests stop by our markets, sometimes we find ourselves explaining what gluten-free and vegan mean.
What is gluten free? Gluten is a protein found in most grains. In people who suffer from Celiac Disease, it can trigger a painful and dangerous reaction. Many others find they are sensitive to gluten and experience abdominal pain and bloating, a cloudy head, rashes or other symptoms. If you often feel this way after eating, gluten may be the culprit.
What is vegan? Vegan is a diet choice that avoids all animal products, including eggs and dairy. Many choose to eat vegan for its health benefits as well as for its kindness to animals and to our earth. The farming of animals leaves a huge carbon footprint. Eating vegan has been scientifically proven to reverse some diabetes and heart disease and can prevent or slow the growth of cancer.
We are also very nut-aware. We offer 3 nut-free choices but we do bake in a commercial kitchen that contains nuts. What I would like you most to know about our cookies is that ALL people who had them, love them! Regardless of any dietary concerns, they’re outrageously delicious!
